🌅Sunrise to Sunset to Sunrise…🌅

📷:⬆️bluebonnet in San Antonio Sunrise in Texas We moved to Texas in 1985 before out first daughter, Rachel was born. We struggled along finding our way to make a living. Some couples do things the “right way”. They finish college, save money, get married, buy a house, have children and live happily ever after. We on the contrary met, fell in love, got married, and fought for every milestone along the way. I realize how much more we appreciated everything back then. When we bought our first washing machine we both watched the spin cycle so proud and…

🖤Be Our Guest🖤

We moved away from family in 2012 and it tore a little piece of my heart. Our oldest granddaughter, Audree was 9 months old at the time and four more sweet granddaughters have been born all stair stepped in age since. (Audree 6, Hallee 4, Ruth 3, Ivy 2, and Hazel 1) I love their visits and count the days in between. We have also enjoyed hosting many other family and friends in our home. I must say one advantage of being away is that the visits are so much more intimate with 24/7 togetherness with our guests…

🎀It’s the Little Things🎀

Don’t Ask Speak Your Mind Nurture Love Is All You Need When we are faced with a crisis our first reaction may be to wallow. It is best to let the person that is hurting tell you what they want and below are a few ways to tell. These are just a few examples of how my friends and family showed me kindness when I fought cancer that I will never forget. These apply to how we treat a loved one in any situation when we are close to someone hurting from loss, trial, or illness. Don&#8217…

Rain, Reign.

Umbrella In Case It Rains Umbrella When It Rains Rain or Reign? 2007-2017   Umbrella In Case It Rains Do you open up an umbrella to cover your head every time you step outside just in case it rains?  This is similar to filling our mind with worry about bad things that may happen in our lives.  Our thoughts dictate our attitude and even impact our health; as well as relationships.  If we spend our waking hours worrying about events that may happen, we are not present in the moment and are unable to enjoy life.  We don&#8217…

Life is Like Floating the River

I have been a little preoccupied with life’s busyness lately and cannot seem to catch a moment to slow down enough to regroup. Do you ever feel like that? Life is good with so many blessings; however I do not feel like I am taking time to reflect with gratitude and that is something that I personally need. We live in the Texas Hill Country and in my opinion, one of the best places on earth to live with a little of everything outdoorsy right in our “backyard”. We have lived here almost 3 years and have not taken…

Gentleness Is Strength

Gentleness is Strength Opposite of Gentle is Brutal Gentleness Calms the Giver and Receiver Gentleness in Fitness   GENTLENESS IS STRENGTH Think about it.  Does it take strength to be gentle when you are angry, stressed, rushed?  In my opinion it does.  When we are angry with our spouse, our children or any other relationship in our lives and our emotions are dictating our speech and actions, we are generally anything but gentle.  I would also say this is pretty normal.  What if we pause and intentionally calm down and treat the situation with gentleness.  Gentleness does not mean we are…

How it all began…

How It All Began What made me go to the doctor The procedure The diagnosis The Days after leading up to Stage 4 What Made Me Go To The Doctor First of all, I am a very private person and don’t really like to talk about myself, so this is a little out of my comfort zone.  My cancer was diagnosed at Stage III and would not have been caught if I would not have gone to the doctor when I did.  I felt completely fine and had no other symptoms except some blood in my stool.  (Embarrassing…
